Beginner's Guide

Getting Started

Download & Install

1. Head to the official website or click the download button on our homepage
2. Download the installer for Windows, PokemonMMO3D_Setup.exe
3. Run the installer and follow the on-screen instructions
4. Launch the game from your desktop shortcut

On Linux, download PokemonMMO3D_Launcher.AppImage from the home page, allow it to run as a program, then open it.

Playing on a Mac

There is no Mac version of the game. You can still play it with CrossOver, a paid app that runs Windows programs and has a free trial. This setup is not official. A player tested it on a Mac with an Apple chip.

1. Install CrossOver from codeweavers.com and open it.
2. Create a new Windows 8 bottle. The launcher only displays properly in this version of Windows.
3. Download PokemonMMO3D_Setup.exe from our home page and install it in that bottle with Install Application into Bottle.
4. Open the launcher and let it download the game. Don't click PLAY yet.
5. In the bottle, open Wine Configuration and go to the Applications tab. Add Game\data\PokemonMMO3D.exe from the folder where you installed the launcher and set its Windows version to Windows 10. By default that folder is C:\Program Files\PokemonMMO3D.
6. Do the same for Game\data\PokemonMMO3D\Binaries\Win64\PokemonMMO3D-Win64-Shipping.exe. The game needs Windows 10, while the launcher stays on Windows 8.
7. Click PLAY. If the game asks to install Microsoft Visual C++, click Yes.

Create Your Account

1. At the login screen, click "Register"
2. Choose a unique account name
3. Enter your email and create a password
4. Log in, then create your trainer and give it a name

Your First Pokémon

When you start your adventure, Professor Oak will offer you a choice between three starter Pokémon. Each has unique strengths:

Controls

Here are the main default keys. You can rebind any of them in the game settings.

Combat System

Unlike the main Pokémon games, combat in Pokémon MMO 3D happens in real time, with no turns. You control your Pokémon directly.

How Combat Works

1. Find a wild Pokémon on a route or in another wild area
2. Press keys 1 to 6 to use the attacks in your 6 active slots
3. Watch your HP, your energy bar and your cooldowns
4. Move around to dodge attacks and stay in range
5. Faint the wild Pokémon to earn XP, then throw a Poké Ball at it to catch it

Type Advantages

Each attack has a type, and type matchups raise or lower its damage. Fire beats Grass, Water beats Fire and Grass beats Water. The type chart of the wiki lists every matchup in the game.

Evolution

Your Pokémon can evolve and become stronger. You start the evolution yourself once its condition is met.

• Most Pokémon evolve when they reach a set level.
• Some need an evolution stone or another item, such as a King's Rock or a Metal Coat.
• Others evolve once their happiness is high enough.

No Pokémon evolves by trading. Alakazam and Gengar, which need a trade in the main games, evolve through happiness here.

Candies

Wild Pokémon can drop candies of their species. You can sell them to the candy collector for PokéDollars.

Maps & Exploration

The game features many explorable areas, from peaceful towns to dangerous wild zones. Each map has different Pokémon to catch and level ranges.

Economy & Brokerage

Pokémon MMO 3D has a player-driven economy. Here's how it works:

The Brokerage

• There is no direct trade between players. Pokémon are bought and sold on the Brokerage, the game's marketplace, from the PC terminal.
• To sell a Pokémon, put it up for sale at your price. Any player can then buy it.
• To buy one, browse what other players have put up for sale and pay in PokéDollars.

In-Game Currency

• PokéDollars (₽) are the game's money. You earn them from quests and by selling candies or Pokémon, then spend them in shops.
• Shops sell Poké Balls for ₽100, Great Balls for ₽300 and more.

Items Worth Collecting

• Wild Pokémon can drop materials such as Soft Fur or Tough Carapace.
• Each species drops its own candy, which you can sell for PokéDollars.
• The Trainer Store sells outfits for your trainer and accessories for your Pokémon, like caps and sunglasses.
