Four Seasons Arena

The Beginning

The Four Seasons Arena Tournament was a collective decision made by a few Pokémon players who wanted to bring a fresh new way of playing Pokémon MMO 3D. Our main motivation emerged alongside the significant changes the game has undergone in the PvP spectrum. Over time, we reached a point where we felt it was necessary to begin incorporating PvP as a way to motivate the broader player base. Through our continued effort grinding and training countless Pokémon we’ve witnessed the growth and future potential of the game, and we truly want to give this facet the recognition it deserves.

Our Mission

Our main mission in organizing this competition is to bring a renewed, competitive, and respectful dimension to the game across multiple fronts. Our primary goal is to make PvP as integral to the game as PvE. Therefore, our competitive system will be designed to foster diversity in Pokémon matchups, seeking to counterbalance the dominance of certain overpowered Pokémon and support those that have been somewhat forgotten. With this in mind, we’ve decided to structure our tournament around a system that prioritizes diversity and strategic depth, especially in relation to the current metagame.

Battle Fest Series

The Battle Fest Series is a year-long set of tournaments aligned with the seasons, each featuring its own competitive rules and a specific list of Pokémon selected for that purpose.

The Seasonal System

To fulfill this vision, we’ve established a tournament structured around the four seasons of the year. Each season will feature a limited selection of carefully chosen powerful and legendary Pokémon. In addition, a handpicked set of seasonal Pokémon will be assigned to reinforce the thematic identity of each cycle. For instance, the launch of our Fall competition coincides with the arrival of Halloween. To reflect this haunting transition, we’ve selected Pokémon such as Misdreavus, Murkrow, and Parasect, each one conjuring the eerie essence of the season. To uphold the seasonal system, players will receive three distinct lists:

  • Seasonal Pokémon List: a smaller, thematic selection from which one mandatory pick must be chosen, always aligned with the current seasonal concept.
  • Powerful Pokémon List: a limited pool of staple metagame Pokémon from which only one selection is permitted.
  • White Pokémon List: the remainder of available pokemon to select.
  • Banned List: A list of restricted pokemon unavailable in the season to promote diversity.

These handpicked restrictions are designed to encourage creative alternatives and foster strategic diversity throughout the tournament. Moreover, they invite players to think carefully about which Pokémon to choose and how each fits into their competitive strategy, bringing a fresh perspective to the PvP metagame. This approach welcomes both newcomers and veteran players, expanding their horizons within the competitive scene.

Tournament System and Rules

The tournament system is structured around two competitive stages:

Group Stage (Round Robin Phase): Players are randomly assigned into groups, where they must face each of their groupmates in individual matches. Victory points are awarded for each win, and once all matches are completed, the two players with the highest scores from each group advance to the next stage.

Elimination Stage (Bracket Phase): This phase follows a single-elimination format. In each match, the losing player is eliminated, while the winner ascends to the next round. The process continues until only one champion remains.

In order to ensure a fair competition for everyone and provide transparency to the entire community, we have decided to create a list of rules, classified according to didactic purposes. Our Rule Book outlines the foundational regulations governing the entire competition. It includes behavioral expectations for all participants, registration procedures via our official Discord group, general guidelines for Pokémon selection, a list of banned moves, and the proper conduct required during battles. Additionally, it provides a detailed list of potential violations that may occur at the start of the tournament, along with their corresponding penalties.

Additionally, to ensure fairness and transparency, each matchup will be overseen by a designated referee. This official will supervise the battle and ensure its correct execution. All matches will be recorded, allowing for post-review in case any disputes or oversight concerns arise.

Winners and Seasonal Prizes

The top three players of the competition will have the opportunity to choose one prize from a pool of four, beginning with the first-place winner, followed by second and third. The remaining prize will be raffled among all participants, with selection based on sportsmanship and respectful conduct throughout the tournament.

Each prize will be thematically aligned with the current season or an ongoing in-game event. None of the rewards will be competitively optimized Pokémon; instead, they will be rare and uncommon species chosen to symbolize both the season and the honor of the trophy itself.
